People have worked on model train sets as a hobby for decades but recently, websites and clubs around the world have sprung up proclaiming, some sets as highly valuable,  especially the beloved Lionel collections.

The hype all started when some collectors held onto false hope while seeing a rare item, Howard Gondola selling on eBay for $1,175. But on closer inspection, it can be easily seen that this was not a usual pattern and most train sets in good condition are only for around $100.
