Mike Smith of Pembrokeshire, Wales, grew up with a metal detector. Since the age of 12, he’s been out in fields, woods, and other locations in search of buried treasure. The dream: to find something extraordinary.

He never expected to find an ancient chain buried a few feet under where he stood. When his gut told him to keep digging, he did. From there, he never could have guessed what he was about to unearth.
