Things changed between the two in 2002 when Kate joined a student fashion show. She walked the ramp in a sheer outfit and that caught the attention of William. Rumor has it that William started to see her in a different light from that moment on.

Kate and William started dating in the late part of 2002. The couple tried to be discreet and their relationship was only revealed in 2004 when they were seen in Switzerland for a vacation.

Given how aggressive the British press is, it is a wonder how the two managed to cover up their relationship. A “gentleman’s agreement” between the royal family and newspaper editors allowed William and Kate to enjoy some privacy while they were still at school.
