The lion named Bonedigger by John, the Zoo’s manager, had spent all of its life at the Zoo. It arrived as an orphaned cub who had been separated and was lost in the wild. And if it hadn’t made its way to the Zoo, it wouldn’t have survived.

Thankfully, the Zoo was familiar with caring for orphaned cubs and already had matured lions. This ensured that Bonedigger grew up with all the comforts it needed to grow and soon be returned to the wild.
