Man Reclaims Identity as Sitting Bull’s Descendant Thanks to Science

Sitting Bull was the leader and chief of the Hunkpapa Lakota Sioux tribe. Sitting Bull’s given name was Tatanka Iyotake which translated to “Buffalo Bull Who Sits Down.” He was known as a great and fearless warrior.

Sitting Bull’s history has been known near and far. Claiming to be a descendant of the great leader would be a very big deal. And now with his father’s blessing, Ernie started to work on everything he could find to connect his family to Sitting Bull. He needed proof that the American icon was his great grandfather.
