More Of Rome’s Ancient History Was Revealed When This Sinkhole Opened Up

At The Pantheon

The sinkhole that popped up in the middle of Rome was found right in front of the Pantheon. This historic monument was a house of worship that was continuously used since its construction back in 117 AD.

The Pantheon can be found in the Piazza Della Rotonda in Rome. In front of it is where the 10-square-foot part of the ground collapsed, forming a huge hole in the ground. After the hole appeared, nobody knew what archaeologists would find underneath.
