How can one make a living in an abandoned town? It did not help that the nearest modern town was a few hours away. In response to this, the US government came up with a solution. Aside from free room and board, they will provide a stipend for meals.

Basically, you do not have to worry about food and lodging – all you have to do is move into Garnet and bring back life into the abandoned town. But is Uncle Sam really willing to give all this for free? Of course not. There was a catch.
