People Said It Was Impossible To Break Into This Vault, So Robbers Dug Their Way In

United California Bank, 1972

The United California Bank heist took place when Amil Dinsio and his gang broke the safe deposit vault in Laguna Niguel, California and took $9 million. His accomplices were brother James Dinsio, nephews Harry and Ronald Barber, brother-in-law Charles Mulligan, and alarm experts Phil Christopher and Charles Broeckel.

While it may have been considered a perfect crime, they made the mistake of repeating the same robbery a couple of months later. The FBI connected the two robberies and discovered that the robbers had been quite sloppy.
