Researching and testing Nuclear weapons isn’t something that any country advertised. But in recent years, old images of what that entailed have surfaced online. This image is from 1945 and shows one of the first-ever Nuclear bombs created.

It was taken in the desert of New Mexico and was part of a highly classified “Trinity” project. Along with this image, we now know that several Nuclear weapons were tested in New Mexico, turning it into one of the more toxic places in the world.
