Ranked: Here Are The Richest Black Billionaires
In recent years, many black people have made the list of the richest billionaires in the world, having built up a net worth of at least $1 billion. Despite the devastating effects of the coronavirus pandemic on the world’s economy, many of these individuals of African American ancestry have still retained their billionaire title. However, there have been changes to their total net worth.
Some suffered setbacks in their line of business, while a few actually managed to improve their financial standings, especially those who were running several businesses. One such example is the net worth of Aliko Dangote, who has occupied the top spot for many years. Prior to the pandemic, he had a net worth of $10.9 billion but as of 2021, his net worth has increased to an estimated $11.6 billion. Oprah Winfrey, the richest black woman in the world, also increased her financial value by $100 million. Contrastingly, Isabel dos Santos, the second-richest black woman in the world, actually saw her wealth fall from $2.3 billion to $1.7 billion.
