Strive Masiyiwa is a businessman and philanthropist and one of the richest black billionaires in the world. His position as the owner and executive chairman of Econet Global, an international technology group, has gained him global recognition. He founded the company in his home country of Zimbabwe in 1998, following government opposition.

He is currently based in London and serves as a global board member of Bank of America, Unilever, and he is also co-chairman of Pathways for Prosperity Commissions on Technology and Inclusive Development. In addition to owning more than half of Liquid Telecom, he also has stakes in mobile phone networks in Lesotho and Burundi.
