Claire returned to the living room where her parents were waiting for her. She sat opposite them and silently placed the pregnancy test on the table. There was a long pause. Claire’s father asked her who was the father of the baby.

Claire started crying. She was not sure who the father was. She had been out partying and drinking a lot. If she did the math, there were two possible options for who the father could be but she was not certain how either one would react.
