Just shortly after they were born, the doctors placed both babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. They both struggled to breathe, even with the help of ventilators. But with time, Hope started to improve and she was slowly gaining strength. But it was a different story for Amber.

While Amber had her good days, the doctors noticed that she had labored breaths and that it took all of her just to take one. She continued to exhibit some signs that were detrimental to her health had it not been the doctors’ quick observation. They even feared she would not pull through.
