As a dog lover, it was difficult for Mariano to ignore the stray dog, which he could clearly see hanging outside of the dealership from the inside. But even if he would want to adopt him, he knew he did not have room left in his home since he already had two big adopted dogs at home.

Mariano could tell that the dog was hungry but he also knew that once he gives the dog food, it will be harder to get rid of it. So, Mariano thought that if the dog was ignored long enough, the dog would probably get the hint and look for shelter and food elsewhere. Mariano tried to go about his morning, ignoring the dog at the doorsteps.
