When Tracy Shaw joined Coronation Street in 1995 as the talkative hairdresser Maxine Peacock, she quickly gained popularity and became a fan favourite. But sadly, she made her exit in 2003 when a serial killer murdered her character.

When Maxine Peacock died, it seems as though Tracy’s career also took a decline. She did occasionally get small roles, but nothing too big to cause a stir. She appeared in Loose Women and mentioned her plans of taking a break from acting.
