Helen of Troy was credited to be the most beautiful woman in Greece with “a face that launched a thousand ships” as she was the indirect cause of the famous Trojan War. It was said that Helen was worshipped at a festival in Laconia. A temple is also dedicated to her at Rhodes.

However, there are no historical records that would back her existence. In fact, most historians would agree that Helen was nothing more but a character created in Homer’s epic poem, the Iliad.
