Hedgehogs are very versatile and yet very sensitive creatures. As babies, they are born without the spikes on their back but as they grow, these spikes start showing. Though as with any other animal, hedgehogs are temperamental creatures but often times, they are very calm. They just don’t like it when they are being manhandled. They curl up into a ball when they’re threatened, which acts like a defense mechanism in the wild so other predators don’t eat them.
