Paul Teutul Sr. was a victim of his own demons long before he appeared on the reality TV show. After his wife asked, the leading member of Orange County Choppers’ garage went to rehab in 1985. He was suffering from both substance and alcohol abuse and knew that he had to stop drinking.

Although the mechanic didn’t see himself quitting alcohol, he was thrilled when his wife convinced him to do so. Paul Sr. was able to manage his own alcoholism but quickly realized that the apple doesn’t always fall far from the trees. Paul Jr. and Mikey had their own drinking issues as young men.
