Eddie Murphy began his career as a comedian at an early age. From 1980 to 1984, he was a Saturday Night Live cast member. He was also a stand-up comedian, ranking number 10 on Comedy Central’s 100 list.

Murphy was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for his performance in Trading places, 48 Hours and Beverly Hills Cop Series. He won the Golden Globe award for best supporting actor in 2007.
