The Schoonover family lived in the popular vacation spot of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina but Karen and Chip had spent most of their married life being dedicated parents to their four daughters Haley, Hollie, Heather, and Halice.

But with the four of them grown and Heather, the oldest had even flown away from the family nest. So, the couple decided that during Christmas break in December they would finally treat themselves to a much-needed vacation.
