Finally, on May 14, 1965, Marvin filed a missing person report. However, when the police started asking around the neighbourhood, they discovered that Lucy went missing in 1961, which is 4 years after Marvin filed the report.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) filed the missing person complaint. When they began investigating, neighbours said the last place they saw Lucy was at 10300-block of 145A Street on the morning of September 1961.
